The Government is committed to partnering with private organisations through Private Finance Initiatives and Public Private Partnerships. By April 2007 over 340 projects, each with a capital value of over £15 million and a combined capital value of over £45 billion, were completed and operating, with more than another 500 projects, each with a capital value of over £15 million and a combined capital value of over £60 billion, been signed after April 2007.

Public-Private Success

Private Finance Initiatives and Public Private Partnerships include Hospitals, Schools, Roads, Street Lighting, Housing, Street and Housing Maintenance, Social Services & Community Facilities, Land Regeneration, IT Services – the list goes on – with Tube Lines and Metronet being two of the largest Public Private Partnerships.
